The challenge

In 2020, a Lighthouse Lab was set up at Alderley Park in Cheshire as a rapid response to the Covid-19 pandemic, providing testing to help protect people across the UK. By November 2020, testing demand was growing fast. The lab needed to increase capacity and improve the flow of samples through the facility.
